Griffin-
Old Farts Trophy Shoot May 2025
Both Gina and Rob Left got through to the third round of the Mitsubishi competition
(only 23 left in at this stage). They were second and third in their squad but unfortunately
only first went through to the last 9.
The person who beat them came second in the
final which highlights how well the did. It should be noted that Rob shot the highest
score on the Saturday while qualifying for the third round, shooting an impressive
70 out of a possible 80.
Well done Gina and Rob.
HOG ROAST
Sutton Gun Club provided a free hog roast for members and their families

It is with great sadness that I have to inform the members of Sutton Gun Club of
the sad loss of long standing member Keith Green, who passed away on 1st January
2016.
Keith shot at Sutton for over three decades and was an active member and a
good friend. A true gentleman! He served the club on the committee and as Chairman
and President.
Many will remember Keith for supplying them with glasses!
Keith will
be much missed and I know that the members of the club will wish to send their sympathy
to Jean (Keiths wife) and to wish her well in the future.
I will end this sad note
hoping people will remember Keith with a smile.
Max Grainger ex Chairman & President.
It is with regret the Club announce the loss of Sid Kilroy on 17th August, 2016 aged
78. Sid was a long time member of Sutton Gun Club until he retired to Cumbria a decade
ago. Sid's final request to the Club was to be able to continue to be a member even
though he would be unable to shoot with us, such was his love for the Club, and we
granted him Honorary membership which he accepted gratefully .

Andy R and Gina L competed in the Mitsibushi World Series at the Midland Game Fair . Gina was shooting by virtue of Bob's abstention due to injury ; Gina having finished only 1 shot behind Bob in the qualifiers and therefore legitimately standing in as first reserve . Both Andy and Gina shot in C class and represented themselves and the Club admirably . It would be fair to say they both had hoped to get through to the final, but it was not to be this time. Never the less to get this far was an achievement in itself.
Mitsibushi World Series
On Saturday 9/4/2011 Sutton Gun Club was represented by several members and they came away with a bag full of prizes.
Ken P and Paul F shot so well in the first round they were classified AA shooters in with all of the professionals ( due to not being registered CPSA shooters 3 stands are used to provide a class ). With a second shoot Ken ended up classified A class and duly won the class. Andy R won B class; Gina L won the ladies and will be in the BASC magazine and Bob L took 2nd in the Veterans !
A brilliant result, well done all of you.

The hospitality from Sam and Eaton Hall was excellent and what I
would not call overly expensive, we even hired a couple of buggies to carry the gear
as it’s a steep climb up the valley .
As normal we used our handicaps from the club and the trophy this year was won by Alex G with a score of 92 ex 100 with handicap
